1986 Gray Robertson's media tour schedule
Shows Robertson giving two presentations a month around the country in 1986. States, "This schedule was formulated to maximize media expousure in each market..."
1987-88 Indoor Air Quality Programs
Describes the industry's strategies and rationale for broadening the focus to indoor air in general, describes involvement of Gray Robertson and ACVA in their plans "Strategy I: Focus greater attention on the broader issue of indoor air quality and the need for improved ventilation systems..." Strategy II: "Continue to broaden political and professional relationships with org's and individuals concerned with the issue of indoor air quality..." TACTICS: 1) Conduct at least one ACVA indoor quality and two ETS Truth Squad media tours per month. Conduct at least one media tour per month in unionized regions of the country....2) In conjunction with ACVA (a company devoted to the identification and control on internal pollution problems in public and commercial buildings)...3) Conduct at least 500 briefings on IAQ issues with officials from labor, industry, trade, environmental groups and media throughout 1988. 1989 Expanded Media Tours for Gray Robertson and more (1989)
Media tours have expanded to include attorneys, phsyicians, professors in addition to Gray Robertson and topics have expanded to include presentations on IAQ, Social Costs, workplace smoking. An average of six presentations a month were done nationwide in locations like Boston, Las Vegas, Portland, OR, Phoenix, Chicago, Boise, Kansas City, Anchorage, Juneau, Baton Rouge, etc.,

This was an agreement among the multinational tobacco companies to work together to fight global health and welfare issues around tobacco.

11 Mar 1994 Lorillard's Cherry complains about Merlo pushing for funds for NSA
"Ellen and PM have again managed to steer well clear of any accusations of savior-faire. Reynolds has its own very expensive (and quite ineffective) smokers' organization . . . It is unlikely in the extreme that American and Lorillard might wish to spend (when it's a Burson venture overspend is the word) their funds on an organization controlled by PM and not coordinated with the Tobacco Institute."
11 May 1994 Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) thanks PM for $50,000
