MEMORANDUM May 4, 1987
To: Regional Vice President /Directors
From: Walter N. Woodson
Subj: ACVA Briefing Book
Attached is the briefing book typically used by Gray Robertson
during his one-on-one visits to potential clients, to legislators,
and to the news media. The book essentially replicates the ACVA
slide show:
. indoor pollutants
. indicators of "sick building syndrome"
. symptoms experienced by building occupants
in sick buildings
. comparison of ACVA findings with NIOSH findings
. typical building ventilation systems
. photographs of dirty ventilation systems
Most of the material in the book is self-explanatory. Obviously,
Gray is the best around to run through the briefing. Simon Turner
and Peter Binney also can do outstanding jobs. But they may not
always be around when the opportunity presents itself. I hope
that occasionally you can put this material to good use.
There are sufficient quantities to provide one _coPY to each field
staffer. Because reproduction of all of these p~iotographs is
extremely expensive, we will not be able to provide additional
~
copies.
I think most of you have heard Gray's-presentation enough times to
be able to work through the book on your own. If you think you
need help you might refer to Gray's presentation to the National
Academy of Sciences in January 1986.
Let me know if you've questions.
